Buy.com has finally sent me notice that they will honor my return and refund my money. As promised, I have deleted the content of this post that criticized their company.
To my readers, make sure you research a company before you buy from them. I thought I was safe buying from a retailer that I recognized, but even the familiar sites are vulnerable to poor customer service.

Can you do a chargeback on your credit card? After all, they can’t keep the money if they can’t prove you even HAD two orders to begin with, right?
And send your story on to the folks at consumerist.com… I bet they’d be able to get you results. Also, they’ve got tips on contacting corporate bigwigs, if you feel the need to write a seething yet thoughtful missive on the state of customer service today.
